This is a fully remote position
THE ROLE
As a Sales Development Representative, you will be an integral part of our internal sales team in prospecting and converting leads into discovery calls. Your calls will capitalize on the earliest opportunity to build rapport, understand the customer's needs, and earn trust through open ended conversations.
Your target clients will be enterprise level call center accounts who have over 1M in spend per annum in staffing services across multiple locations. Thus, you will play an important part in implementing a sophisticated sales strategy to introduce, engage, and ultimately connect with large, corporate accounts. You will make anywhere from 20-50 calls a day to reach a decision maker at a call center or similar company.
THE TEAM
Balance was founded in the 90's with the idea that there needs to be more 'balance' in the staffing industry. We also acknowledge that you can't place profit over people or values, and we practice this in every interaction. Balance is privately owned, which means there isn't a lot of red tape when it comes to having influence.
YOUR MANAGER
Your manager will be Erica. She describes herself to be goofy, fun loving, and collaborative. You won't catch her in a blazer at a Zoom meeting, as she believes you need to be professional yet comfortable to do your best work. She will coach you if you need it. Erica is open to being creative when it comes to targeting new clients, and also wants to focus on building relationships.
LET'S TALK ABOUT THE MONEY
This is a base + commission role, meaning you will earn an hourly rate of $20-$22. In addition, you will earn commission depending on the amount of discovery call appointments set as well as the number of appointments that turn into contracts. Most Sales Development Reps set between 2-3 appointments per week and average 1-2 contracts a month.
Every discovery call appointment booked by you = $25-$100
Every contract signed as a result of a discovery call you booked = $100-$1,000
GROWTH
This is a Level 1 role within the sales team. This means there are four additional levels to grow into after Level 1. Most Sales Development Reps are in a role with more responsibility after their first year. We conduct quarterly and annual reviews as well as regular training to get you to where you want to be professionally.
PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
An ideal Sales Developoment Representative will have or be:
- 1+ years experience in B2b sales development experience (preferred)
- Tenacious, thoughtful, and methodical in outbound calls
- Judicious use of your time and operate with discernment -- e.g. know what departments are relevant in finding the 'decision maker'
- Able to build rapport in a short period of time with clients on the phone
- A growth mindset
- Strong phone etiquette and communication skills
- Confidence around basic computer programs including ATS or CRM systems such as Salesforce or similar programs
This is a fully remote role. Training will be on Pacific Standard time, but there may be opportunity to work to Central Time.
