JOB TYPE: DIRECT HIRE
Do you love advising small businesses on all things tax related because you have your own entrepreneurial spirit?
Are you excited about becoming a senior-level leader of a next-generation accounting and tax firm that is backed with significant capital for growth?
Would you like to join a firm on the ground level and help build it into a thriving growth company?
Then this may be the opportunity for you!
OVERVIEW We are a rapidly growing accounting and tax firm that exclusively serves small-to-mid sized business clients via three offices across the country. With significant capital raised for growth, and a strong industry reputation, we have shifted into our next phase of expansion and will be opening a new office in Phoenix, Arizona.
We are actively recruiting a talented leader to join the team as the Tax Manager. This individual will play a pivotal role in building this office from the ground level into a firm that consistently exceeds a double-digit growth rate and actively advances the mission of helping local businesses flourish.
This is a team that likes what they do and those they are doing it with. We are team players and value consistent, transparent communication. Every team member is critical and can have a meaningful impact on client success and the firm’s success. The Firm is committed to ensuring each team member can thrive by helping to develop their professional skills and providing some of the best continuing education offered. We are proactive problem solvers who create long-term solutions. We have rock-solid systems in place for providing client service that allow for scheduling flexibility and balance (no "fire drills"). We do everything we can to perpetually grow trust from fellow employees as well as clients. Also, unlike many other accounting and tax firms, our office will have an in-house sales & marketing team that handles all new business development. This allows our professionals to focus on what they do best: providing great service!

You will take the lead in key personnel decisions, including hiring and cultivating talent. You will work with small business owners to offer meaningful tax advice for their specific and sometimes complex situations, while managing a growing volume of returns. You will be part of a high energy, highly collaborative entrepreneurial environment, where your desire to build something special and to grow a firm is just as important as your technical ability!

- Extensive technical tax experience in high production volume environments and advising on complex tax situations that small-to-mid sized business owners face • Minimum of 2 years recent experience in managing small to mid-sized teams • CPA designation required • Excellent people-management and communication skills, with experience in hiring, training, motivating, and developing staff • Collaborative, can-do attitude with a passion for building more efficient processes and teams • Must be experienced with Lacerte or UltraTax, QuickBooks, and MS Office. Especially helpful (but not required) is familiarity with Thomson Reuters’ suite of production and practice management software. • Proven success with managing and performing well within an entrepreneurial environment with unknowns • Desire to be part of a new venture of building a firm • Desire to learn and grow your professional skills
WHAT YOU’LL GET The firm will reward your talents with an attractive salary plus bonus. Excellent opportunities to share in the firm’s financial success as a partner exist for someone who will grow with us. You will also receive a competitive benefits package that includes Simple IRA, paid holidays & vacation. This position will be hybrid (approximately 50% in-office, 50% remote) with benefits such as flexible scheduling, and paid continuing education. If you have the skills and energy we need, we encourage you to send your resume.
